Who can sell on wholesale marketplaces?

If you have products that you physically sell, you can make them wholesale products which means you sell them typically in bulk with no mark-up costs.

Applying to Sell on Abound
As a growing community, there is an application process to sell on Abound. You will hear back within 7 business days and will receive a welcome email if accepted.
How much does it cost to sell on Abound?
Nothing! There are so fees to sell on Abound and they offer flexible commission fees.
What are the criteria for selling on Abound?
Once Abound receives your application, they will begin to review your submission. Abound prefers shops with more than 50 SKUs, but will accept a single SKU if they have a unique value. They also look for a growing following on Instagram.
How to Get Started Selling
Abound makes it easy to sell your products wholesale. Simply create a listing for each product you wish to sell and set your wholesale price. When a buyer expresses interest in one of your products, they’ll submit an offer via the site. You can then either accept or decline the offer. If you accept, the buyer will be invoiced and will have 14 days to pay. Once payment is received, you’ll ship the product to the buyer and receive your payment minus a small transaction fee. It’s that simple!
Now let’s take a look at how you can set up your own shop on Abound. First, you’ll need to create an account and verify your email address. Once you’re logged in, click on the “Sell” tab and then select “Create a Shop.” You’ll be prompted to enter your shop name, description, and payment information. Be sure to take some time to fill out your shop profile completely as this will help buyers find you when they’re searching for specific products!
Once you’ve created your shop, you’ll need to add products. To do this, click on the “Products” tab and then select “Add Product.” You’ll be prompted to enter a product name, description, price, and shipping information. Be sure to include as much detail as possible so buyers know what they’re getting!
Commission and Payment Options
Once you make a sale, Abound offers two payment options back to you:
- Option 1 (lower commission) charges a commission rate of 15% for first-time orders with and 8% thereafter per retailer with net 45 payment terms (from the date of product delivery).
- Option 2 (faster payment) charges a commission rate of 25% for first-time orders and 15% thereafter per retailer with payment within 5 days of product delivery.
You can change your commission and payment options every 30 days depending on what you need for your company.
Shipping Your Products
When you’re ready to ship your products, simply print out a packing slip from the Abound website and include it in your shipment. Be sure to mark the order as “shipped” on the website once it has been sent!
Be aware, that if you choose to ship with Abound, they will cover 100% of the shipping costs which is a huge advantage. If you choose to ship on your own, Abound will reimburse you 25% of the order value.
Ship with Abound
If you choose ship with Abound, you generate your shipping labels directly on Abound and have no out-of-pocket expenses because Abound will pay the carriers and shipping costs. You will view your shipping rates and purchase the shipping label directly on Abound’s website. You can even choose which mail carrier you would like to purchase from.
Ship on your own
When you choose the ship on your own option, you can choose whichever shipping carrier you would like. Then on Abound, you would simply add in the tracking information and then select “mark as shipped.” This is a great option if you can find a carrier that offers competitive pricing.
My favorite company to ship through is Pirate Ship. They are a company that helps you ship things for cheaper and more competitive prices. You can choose to use them if you want and it might be cheaper than other companies or the Abound website. You would simply enter in the package information and then buy the label through them.
When you are ready to start selling your products to retailers, be sure to check out their Boost program. This is a huge bonus for retailers that might want to start carrying your products in your shop.
